My new friend, TED
Last week, I fulfilled a dream of mine and got to step out onto the red dot and share my idea worth spreading! The title of my TEDx talk is: How to Come Through Big Breaks Stronger, Not Smaller.
This is a topic that I’m quite passionate about. My own life-altering experience is something that is often misunderstood. Enduring any relationship with a narcissist can be quite traumatic, especially when it feels like your whole relationship — and life — was a lie. It makes you question reality and everything else in your life. It takes perspective and reflection and a lot of self-discovery and grace to recover.
I share all of the juicy details in my first book, You’re My Favorite, which is currently on sale for 50% OFF on my website www.ginnypriem.com while supplies last.
A coach once said to me, “Your story’s not that big.” And it felt like I’d been kicked in the stomach. It was BIG to ME. And whatever it is that you’ve been through or might be going through right now is as big as you need it to be.
We can all relate to minimizing ourselves or our own experiences in some way. I even did it the morning of my TEDx talk! And I share the details from stage. What’s worse is when others minimize our experiences because it makes you feel even smaller and denies you the reality of how big it is to you.
In this week’s Drinking With Gin podcast episode, I share the full rundown and all of the details around landing a TEDx talk, the preparation process and the details of the experience. Make sure you subscribe to the podcast HERE so you get notified when weekly episodes drop. It’s always appreciated when you leave a review and share with a friend!
I think I’m still riding the wave. It was a wonderful experience and the entire TEDxCavalier team was incredible. There is so much that goes into putting on an event of this caliber. It was a true honor to be a part of it and I’m thrilled that I got to be a part of it. Where is Cavalier, you ask? ⬇️
Cavalier, ND is near the Canadian border and is about a 5 1/2 hour drive from Minneapolis. Everyone there was absolutely lovely! One of the most common questions I was asked was how I found out about or why I selected the TEDx in Cavalier, ND. All the details are in the podcast, but if you’ve been around here awhile, you might have a shot at giving it an educated guess! 🐶
People have already been reaching out to ask about and searching for the video wondering where and when you can watch it. P.S. How cool is it that this audience member in the picture is TAKING NOTES during my TEDx talk?!
I cannot thank you all enough for all of the love and support. It truly means the world to me! Based on what I’ve heard from the team, the video should be available in the next 10-14 days. If we’re not already connected on Instagram, that’s a great way to stay up to date and get access to updates the quickest.
As soon as the footage is available, I will be sharing it across all of my social media platforms. And you are welcome and invited to do so as well! For those that have inquired about the best way to do so and and wanted me to provide some text that could be copied and pasted when sharedl here are a few variations of text you can include when you share. Feel free to use your own or edit/personalize these to what feels natural for you:
